Oppressive, still and close.
Waiting for monsoons.
Rainy afternoon.
Sky dark, broken by lightning.
Sound of thunder near
Bright rainbow arches.
Earth and trees moist with rain.
Completes summer cycle.

Your Haiku is beautiful, Maggie. When I was teaching, I always spent time on Haiku... kids can write the most wonderful poetry!
