that the Leafy Dragon Seahorse.

The sea turtle is constantly swimming.

This female sea otter is not raising her own

young but frequently raises an orphan

sea otter found in the kelp nearby.

Marina Dunes

California coast, Monterey and Marina. Dunes and rough surf. Fog city but sun peeks through.

Flip flops left at the beach. Makes one wonder where the feet went to.

Life on the Pier

The pier is a busy place. Walking, snacking, watching the surfers, watching boys fish then feed the pelicans.

Everyone is a musician

On the weekend at the beach, on the boardwalk and on the pier, everyone is a musician. All ages, all instruments, all bad.

Families at the beach

Labor Day at Pisomo Beach. Families, dogs and would be musicians. Sunny day to watch the activity.

Pismo Beach

Enjoying the ocean breeze in Pismo Beach, Central Coast. What every girl needs after a summer in the desert. Seafood, clam chowder and wine tasting. Watching the dog walkers and surfers and families spending the day.

A great read!

Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. By Helen Simonson. Random House Trade paperback.

This is a great love story set in England in modern times. It is a Romeo and Juliet and Westside Story but with 60 somethings instead of teenagers. Major Pettigrew falls in love with Mrs. Ali, a Pakistani widow and shop keeper. This sets off the community and both families who are aghast at this mixed race couple. A delightful read. Available at Costco. IMO it should not be an eBook. It is a book to be cherished, passed around and shared with friends. There is a movie deal in which the author will be one of the screen writers. Don't hold your breath however. Books to film take a couple of years till they get to the local theatre.
